The words Timeless and Precious have followed him through his creative journey. In his early 20s, Timeless was the name of a clothing brand he started. Today, Nam works with exceptional materials, such as jewels, diamonds, and gold. Materials considered to be both timeless and precious, hence the exhibition namesake. Raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles, he always wanted his work to reflect the city that shaped him, blending creativity with culture. Every piece in this gallery carries those values, an exploration of what Dilitru founder, Sang Nam finds timeless, what he holds precious, and what connects him to his roots as a Korean American. This exhibition pays homage to his heritage on both spectrums and was only right to showcase these exceptionally made Korean-centric pieces at nonfromseoul, which brings in the oddity of Jayson Palacio. A visual enigmatic mood-setter, embracing a beauty behind imperfections. His photography evokes emotion through minimalism, stoic expressions, shutter delays, and the color red. Palacio’s style isn’t the conventional style you see on billboards and magazine advertising. His work is intentionally designed to be shaky and unclear. A stylistic choice that makes his work one of ambiguity and curiosity. He explains the meaning of ‘Timeless Precious’ as a celebration between opposites and challenges conventional norms. Embracing the finite nature of living organisms next to precious metals and jewels both baring beauty in the eye of the beholder.
